£100 million dealer group chooses XPart All-Makes programme to help drive revenue growth
One of the country’s oldest dealer groups, John Grose, has joined the XPart All-Makes programme to drive revenue growth across all its parts activities. Founded in 1888, John Grose has annual sales exceeding £100 million from its eleven sites in East Anglia. Based in Ipswich, after three months in the programme, revenue is already up across all parts ranges.
John Grose operates franchised dealerships under the Ford, Peugeot / Citroen, Isuzu / Subaru, Chrysler / Jeep / Dodge and Kia brands, as well as two bodyshops. Last year, expansion of the brand portfolio led to consolidation of the parts distribution activities into a single site in Ipswich. “This gave us an opportunity to expand our parts factoring business using our existing skills and facilities,” says aftersales director David Grose. “An All-Makes programme made perfect sense as it would increase our product portfolio and, by providing a one-stop-shop, drive greater loyalty and hence overall growth across all ranges.”
John Grose chose the XPart All-Makes programme because of their previous experience with XPart and the trust that they had developed in the company. “We looked at their offering and found a very credible range of high quality branded components, competitive pricing, efficient logistics and excellent back-up services such as training and technical support,” says David.
The strategy has worked extremely well, with more than 400 local garages and bodyshops now buying an increasing volume of parts from John Grose. “The All-Makes programme has undoubtedly increased customer loyalty and hence sales across all our parts ranges,” concludes David Grose. “XPart is a highly professional operator in this market and they have helped us develop a successful and fast-growing parts business.”
XPart is a wholly owned subsidiary of Caterpillar Logistics Services UK Limited, one of the automotive industry’s leading supply chain management companies. It has established a network of more than 230 XPart AutoService centres across the UK, providing franchise-quality repair at aftermarket rates. Its product range contains more than 33,000 parts for all makes of vehicle and since 2001, it has been responsible for the supply of genuine MG Rover parts.
