Stevens Vauxhall creates new motor factor business
A new motor factor business has been created by Stevens Vauxhall in Crawley. Stevens Motor Factors will provide a fast and efficient parts delivery service to independent garages within a 30 mile radius of the town, offering high-quality parts for all-makes of vehicle. The new business has been established as a result of Stevens Vauxhall signing up to the XPart All-Makes scheme which gives them access to more than 33,000 vehicle parts.
“The creation of Stevens Motor Factors means that our customers can now receive speedy deliveries of parts for all makes of vehicle alongside the Vauxhall OE parts we already supply to them,” comments Duncan Waitland, parts manager, Stevens Vauxhall. “With high-quality brands available across the entire product range, garages can now make just one phone call to order the parts they need for all of their servicing requirements. Not only does this help our customers become more efficient, but it also means that we will have a new income stream and our own assets such as vans and stores will be used more economically.”
Under the XPart scheme, Stevens Motor Factors will initially stock 3,000 product lines on site. It will have access to a further 30,000 lines which can be supplied overnight from XPart’s central distribution centre. The range uses market leading brands helping to ensure extensive coverage of the vehicle parc, technical excellence and ease of fitting. Some of the brands included in the portfolio are TRW (brakes), Lucas (rotating electrics), Crosland (filters), Bosal (exhausts) and Dayco (belts). These are supported by similar market leading brands for clutch, steering and suspension, transmissions, wiper blades, batteries, shock absorbers, oils and workshop consumables.
Having decided to create a factoring business and offer an all-makes range, Stevens Vauxhall evaluated several other schemes before selecting the XPart programme. “After reviewing the products available, the vehicle coverage and the costs involved, the XPart scheme was clearly the best choice for us,” comments Waitland. “Not only was the product offering the most comprehensive, but we will also be supported by an extensive marketing programme which includes tools such as an innovative e-marketing portal helping us to run our new business in an efficient manner.”
Stevens Motor Factors will initially offer the all-makes service to the 300 independent motor traders that receive deliveries of its Vauxhall parts. Garages looking to take advantage of the new service should contact Duncan Waitland at Stevens Motor Factors on 01293 540541. Other franchised dealer groups looking to expand their business into all-makes should contact Gary Logan at XPart on 01455 825163.
XPart is a wholly owned subsidiary of Caterpillar Logistics Services UK Limited, one of the automotive industry’s leading supply chain management companies. It has established a network of more than 240 XPart AutoService centres across the UK, providing franchise-quality repair at aftermarket rates.
